Good SEO practice a MUST for effective Marketing ResultsPosted by Steve Sanford / Sun, May 24, 2009 at 12:17 PM / (0) Comments SEO has become one of the hottest and most misunderstood acronyms that clients ask me about these days and creates a lot of confusion. Most people still don’t really understand that much about SEO or the differences of SEO and SEM, but they seem to know they need it. I think what’s really driving the attention is frankly that the economy is bad and everyone wants to find a way to now improve their business. It’s normal for hard times to make people more interested in the little things they previously ignored. When times are good it seemed like a lot of trouble. So let’s try and clarify what SEO and SEM are and why you need a good SEO strategy to make sure your site is ready for prime time and real results. SEO is the acronym for Search Engine Optimization. Maybe you’ve wondered how you get to the top of Google for example. Google, Yahoo, MSN and all the other search engines make an effort to index the content on your site and they use robot code to do so. To take advantage of their efforts you need to make sure your site is built in a way that makes it easy for them to accomplish that. If you don’t your throwing away free advertising. It’s more important than ever to ensure that your site is optimized, but there are so many companies that will promise you the moon if you pay them big amounts of money to do your SEO that frankly don’t deliver. Does that mean that you should not use an outside company? Of course not, but you need to make sure that you get a company that does SEO right. So how do we know what’s right or not? That’s exactly what I want to explore over several blog posting in the next few weeks. Now before we go into the details of what makes GOOD SEO let’s understand why this is important to effective marketing. Share This!
